When Life Throws You a Curve Ball 2

ribbonWhen Life Throws You a Curve Ball

Hit that Puppy out of the Park!

Isn’t it amazing how life is going quite well and then WHAM here comes the curve ball!

On Nov 10th, 2010 I was thrown one heck of a curve ball. I’ve come to realize that the bat you use to knock that puppy out of the park comes from your support system. But the strength and courage to swing that bat comes from your own attitude.

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens.
Khalil Gibran

Ok, I’ll admit that I had a huge meltdown shortly after my surgeon told me I have DCIS (Ductal carcinoma in situ–the earliest form of breast cancer) But then I stopped.  I decided that I determine how this will affect my life. I decided to be as positive as I can be at all times. I decided not to play the victim. I decided to make the best of what can seem like the worst of a situation. And, I also decided to reach out rather than carry this alone.

And, it feels GOOD.

I know I could not get through this without my wonderful support system, My family has been tremendous!  And to my wonderful friends, I can not thank you enough for the kindness you have shown. I am truly humbled.

The ball is sailing through the air…

The crowd is on it’s feet…

Anticipation falls upon us like a heavy morning fog…

And then…

We know it’s a home run

The moment the ball arcs over the fence…

The crowd erupts in jubilation…

Together, we run the victory lap…

Can You FEEL it??

I can.
